Surf is the face height at the beach after the swell is filtered for the way North Hosta faces. Arrows show where the swell and wind are heading. Tide is the height at Scolpaig above chart datum, rising ↑ or falling ↓; the rating drops when the tide is outside the window this break works on. Amber marks the sessions worth setting an alarm for. From Wednesday the swell comes from Météo-France's 10-day model, which is coarser than the 5 km German model used close in. Hours no model reaches are left blank, not shown as flat.
Exposure
North Hosta faces west. Swell inside the lit window reaches the beach; anything from behind the headlands scores nothing, however big the buoy says it is.

- Wind
- East is offshore.
- Tide
- mid tide.
- Getting there
- OS map is best.
An intimidating and powerful wave. Very hollow with big barrels but tends to break in fast sections. It is fast and shallow so be prepared to eat sand and carry a first aid kit. An interesting challange for hard core soul surfer types. Choice when it's working well.
