Surf is the face height at the beach after the swell is filtered for the way Newtz faces. Arrows show where the swell and wind are heading. Tide is the height at North Sunderland (Northumberland) above chart datum, rising ↑ or falling ↓; the rating drops when the tide is outside the window this break works on. Amber marks the sessions worth setting an alarm for. From Thursday the swell comes from Météo-France's 10-day model, which is coarser than the 5 km German model used close in. Hours no model reaches are left blank, not shown as flat.
Exposure
Newtz faces north-east. Swell inside the lit window reaches the beach; anything from behind the headlands scores nothing, however big the buoy says it is.

How Newtz works
- Swell
- Best from the north east.
- Wind
- South West is offshore.
- Tide
- all tides.
- Getting there
- Follow A1, look for Seahouses and follow signs for seahouses, then before you get to seahouses look for a sign to Newton. Find the car park, get changed quickly and run over the track in the sand dune
Really long beach with clear bluey-green sea, very nice RIGHT HAND point break in the corner though. Runs for ages and just holds up and up.
